Terms & Conditions

1. Contracting Party
Shan China Tours is operated by Jian Shan Travel Pte Ltd (“the Company”), a Singapore-registered travel agent licensed by the Singapore Tourism Board.
By confirming a booking and/or making payment, the client agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Pricing
All prices are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) unless otherwise stated.
Prices are based on prevailing exchange rates, supplier costs, and applicable taxes at the time of quotation. The Company reserves the right to adjust prices prior to confirmation due to currency fluctuations, supplier cost changes, or government-imposed taxes or fees.

3. Payment Terms
A 50% deposit of the total tour price is required at the time of booking and must be paid within seven (7) days from the invoice date.If the deposit is not received within this timeframe, the Company reserves the right to revise pricing.
The remaining 50% balance must be settled no later than thirty (30) days prior to departure.
Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit.
Failure to make payment by the stipulated deadlines may result in cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of any payments made.

4. Amendments by Client
All amendment requests must be made in writing.
Amendments are subject to availability and may incur administrative charges and/or supplier-imposed penalties. Certain services (including peak season hotels, rail tickets, and special activities) may be non-changeable once confirmed.

5. Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
Cancellation charges shall apply as follows:
- Upon confirmation of booking: 20% of the total tour price is non-refundable.

If cancellation is made 30 days or more before departure: 50% of the total tour price is non-refundable.

If cancellation is made 14 days or less before departure: 100% of the total tour price is non-refundable.
For cancellations made between 15–29 days before departure, cancellation charges will be 75% of the total tour price.
No refunds will be provided for unused services after tour commencement.
Where supplier-imposed penalties exceed the above percentages (e.g., peak seasons, special events, or non-refundable tickets), the higher penalty shall apply.

6. Changes by the Company
The Company reserves the right to make reasonable modifications to itineraries due to weather conditions, safety concerns, operational requirements, government regulations, or circumstances beyond its control.
Where necessary, comparable alternatives of similar standard may be substituted.
If the Company cancels a booking for reasons within its control, a refund limited to the amount paid shall constitute full settlement of any liability.

7. Force Majeure
The Company shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance arising from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, epidemics or pandemics, government restrictions, civil unrest, transport disruptions, or border closures.
In such circumstances, refunds will be subject to recovery from suppliers and are not guaranteed in full.

8. Limitation of Liability
The Company arranges services provided by independent third-party suppliers, including hotels, transport operators, guides, and activity providers.
While reasonable care is exercised in selecting suppliers, the Company shall not be liable for injury, loss, damage, accident, delay, or irregularity caused by such third parties.
The Company’s total liability, whether arising in contract, negligence, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total tour price paid by the client.
The Company shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.

9. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:Ensuring valid passports and visasObtaining adequate travel insuranceComplying with local laws and regulationsDisclosing relevant medical conditions
Certain activities (including hiking, horseback riding, and high-altitude travel) involve inherent risks, which clients acknowledge and accept.

10. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and should include medical coverage, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal liability.
The Company shall not be responsible for losses arising from failure to obtain adequate insurance coverage.

11. Data Protection
Personal data is handled in accordance with the Company’s Privacy Policy and Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Singapore.
Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
